About 8,000 galaxy-quasar pairs from the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument reveal magnesium and carbon absorption around emission-line galaxies near redshift 1.5. Absorption strength and covering fractions increase with stellar mass, and velocity offsets rise from roughly 100 to 200 km/s beyond the halos.
