Researchers present EnsAI, an AI-based system for generating ensembles of surface ammonia concentrations. Trained on output from the GEM-MACH air quality model, it reproduced meteorology-dependent ensemble features while producing ensembles roughly 3,300 times faster and yielded comparable emissions-inversion results with less computation.
