Why volunteers are gluing seeds to clam shells in Connecticut

Save the Sound volunteers are gluing eelgrass seeds to clam shells so the clams bury them in sediment and effectively plant them. Drone imagery showed meadow coverage up 178 percent after the 2025 trial, and this season's goal is 10,000 clams and 300,000 seeds, with rice paper now sealing seeds on.
