A new way to make iridium catalysts for hydrogen production last longer

A new iridium catalyst for PEM water electrolyzers ran for more than 3,800 hours with very little loss in performance, and for over 3,200 hours in a separate, harsher test. The iridium nanoparticles grow out of a high-entropy perovskite by heating, so they stay locked in place instead of clumping or drifting.
