Redshifted Cool Gas in the Disturbed HI Disk of the Starburst Dwarf NGC 4214

Gas near the starburst core of dwarf galaxy NGC 4214 is moving the wrong way: absorption lines show it redshifted up to 30 km/s, falling inward instead of blowing out. Combined with a warped, disturbed HI disk seen by VLA and FAST, the data hint at gas raining back onto the galaxy rather than escaping it.
