Ottawa is putting $880 million toward paid, four-month job placements to get young Canadians into the skilled trades before they even start an apprenticeship. The money is part of an $8-billion push that also includes a $5,000 bonus for new Red Seal tradespeople and EI top-ups for apprentices in training.
