GitHub is adding capacity and redesigning storage so durable repository data sits in Azure Blob Storage while separate machines serve reads, aiming to stop automated traffic slowing writes. It reported 7.38 billion September commits and said new repos with agent instruction files averaged eight times more commits, without measuring productivity.
