Observations of the active galaxy 3C 120 with XRISM and several VLBI arrays show its cold, thin accretion disk is truncated at about 20 gravitational radii, replaced inside by a hot, thick flow. This suggests jets are launched from the hot inner flow, possibly via the Blandford–Znajek process, even at high accretion rates.
