Agent memory needs its OpenTelemetry moment
The author, who maintains the open-source LoreKit memory tool, argues that the many competing ways coding agents store what they remember should share a common record model, naming conventions and a small set of operations over MCP, much as observability vendors converged on OpenTelemetry. Existing proposals largely handle export between vendors rather than live addressing by several tools at once.
