Synchronized Rebuilds:The Hidden Cost of Concurrent Inserts in Learned Indexes

A benchmark study of 13 learned indexes across more than 4000 runs finds each design pays a different price for concurrent inserts, including synchronized rebuild bursts and, in three of five concurrent designs, lost keys or stalled progress. Buffering during rebuilds and background rebuilds sharply cut high-latency inserts on 400M real keys.
