A contributor to the open-source Forem project explains how reading public code revealed why 4x commit-club badges were never awarded: the stored slugs did not match the hardcoded constants. His fix PR #24113 also added idempotent awarding and context messages, and a review exposed a regression test that passed on main without the fix.
