htmx skips version 3 entirely and jumps to 4.0, swapping XMLHttpRequest for fetch(), adding morphing swaps and a new hx-partial tag, all while staying near 14KB. The catch: attribute inheritance now requires an explicit :inherited suffix, and missing it on something like a CSRF header can silently start triggering 403 errors.
