Wildfires could cost Canada billions over the coming century

New research estimates that limiting warming to 2 C would keep Canadian wildfire burned area, exposure and costs similar to recent decades. Under high emissions, an additional 180,000 Canadians could be exposed yearly by the end of the century, with direct costs up to $870 million annually and global CO2 damages up to $50 billion a year.
