Carmel-by-the-Sea Gets Its First Street Numbers, Sparks Voter Panic
Carmel-by-the-Sea just gave every house a street number for the first time in 110 years, and a routine county postcard about it got mistaken for a voter re-registration order. Officials say no one actually needs to re-register before November 3, but try telling that to a town with no mail delivery and no addresses until last month.
