A data analytics project designed to predict demand on the health service at both a local and national level has had a transformative impact on NHS resource planning during the coronavirus crisis, according to an executive at the health service’s digital arm.

Dr Indra Joshi, director of artificial intelligence at NHSx, told the CogX conference this afternoon that the Covid-19 data store, which is managed by the data analysis firms Palantir and Faculty, has overhauled the way health service resources are coordinated.
