AI bots are getting better at playing Dota 2 but can’t quite master the whole game to beat top professional teams yet, according to research from OpenAI.

Last year, researchers from the lab headquartered in San Francisco managed to best Dendi, a pro player, winning two matches out of three. But it was only in one-on-one games - a single bot against a single human - and under very limited circumstances that are not applicable in real competitions.
