SANTA CLARA — A big homebuilder has bought a Santa Clara shopping center where a housing development is in the works, public records show.

Toll Brothers has bought Bowers Plaza, a neighborhood retail center at 3155 El Camino Real in Santa Clara, documents filed on Feb. 14 with the Santa Clara County Recorder’s Office show.
