MOJAVE, Calif. (AP) — Four people were slain late Sunday in the Kern County community of Mojave, the sheriff’s office said.

Deputies responding to a report of a shooting at 11:20 p.m. in a cluster of homes west of Highway 14 found the four “suffering from traumatic assault injuries,” the Kern County Sheriff’s Office said in a brief press release. Three of the people died at the scene and one was pronounced dead at a hospital, the office said.
