San Jose’s latest revamp of its grand vision for transforming the area surrounding Diridon train station and SAP Center features a massive increase in office space and hotel rooms as the city seeks to expand and revitalize its downtown core.

After crafting numerous versions of its Diridon area development plan, the city this week unveiled a slew of proposed updates that sharply enlarge the size of downtown San Jose, as well as allow for much higher building heights and greater densities on the western fringes of downtown.
