SAN JOSE — As the search for San Jose’s next police chief intensifies, a field of six finalists dominated by veterans of the city’s police force has emerged, with the notable addition of the embattled Minneapolis Police Department’s chief.

San Jose City Manager David Sykes quietly released a memo Monday evening that named the six finalists for San Jose police chief as SJPD acting Chief David Tindall, deputy chiefs Anthony Mata and Heather Randol, and Capt. Jason Ta, Piedmont police Chief Jeremy Bowers — an SJPD alum — and Minneapolis police Chief Medaria Arradondo.
