SANTA CLARA — A man seen acting erratically and approaching children at an elementary school was restrained by alert school staff and parents Tuesday afternoon, according to Santa Clara police.

Police reported that a 30-year-old man walked onto the Bowers Elementary School campus on Barkley Avenue at about 2:20 p.m., as school was letting out, and quickly attracted the attention of staff because of his unstable behavior.
