After weeks of leaks and rumors, Electronic Arts finally unveiled “Battlefield 2042,” the next entry in its military shooter series. Unlike previous chapters, this game is set in the near future and takes players to a world reeling from the impact of climate change.

It presents players with a dire vision, in which environmental catastrophes have led to the greatest refugee crisis in human history. Nations have collapsed and it creates a new demographic called the Non-Patriated. These No-Pats as they call themselves don’t have allegiance to any state because they were abandoned. If this were the Marvel Cinematic Universe, these would be comparable to the Flag Smashers.
