ORINDA — Four people were killed and several more injured in a shooting at a packed Halloween party at a rented Airbnb mansion, shocking the affluent bedroom community where homicides remain exceedingly rare.

“We’re devastated and our hearts go out to those families who have lost loved ones and to those who were injured. Our best thoughts are with them,” Orinda Mayor Inga Miller said. “Our police department is investigating this incident and we hope to have more information later.”
