Beauty may be in the eye of the beholder but there are some cities so lovely they always take your breath away.

In search of the pinnacle of picturesque, Flight Network, the travel website, has named the World’s 50 Most Beautiful Cities, a shortlist of the most scenic cities the planet has to offer. A team of judges was asked to nominate cities with a population over one million that exemplified the best combination of natural and man-made beauty, the juxtaposition of nature and architecture, city culture and local weather.
