The COVID-19 pandemic has claimed five more lives in Santa Clara County, marking the eighth straight day its fatality list has grown.

The deaths brought to 126 the number of people in the county whose lives have ended because of the coronavirus. That number is the most among all Northern California counties and nearly double the amount of people who have died in Alameda County, which has the second-most deaths.
