Earlier this week the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) team announced the alpha release of Cloud SQL for Microsoft SQL Server.

According to Google, the goal with Cloud SQL for Microsoft SQL Server is to make it easier for enterprises to work "as expected" with their on-premise cloud projects, letting them easily bring SQL Server projects into their Google cloud infrastructure.
