Microsoft has officially announced that on September 1st, 2018 Skype Classic (version 7.0 ) will no longer work. The program that we have all come to love and use on a daily basis is now going to be taken out to the pasture, while we will be forced to use Skype 8.0.

"Today, we are rolling out an updated version of Skype (version 8.0) for desktop that will replace Skype version 7.0 (also known as Skype classic)" Microsoft stated in an announcemt.
