SAN JOSE — Spirit Airlines launched on Wednesday its first-ever flights from San Jose International Airport, an expansion that bolsters the Silicon Valley aviation hub’s quest to recover from its coronavirus-spawned maladies.

The first flight departed San Jose Airport around 10:39 a.m. Wednesday to start a trip to Dallas that was slated to last three hours and 33 minutes.
