Actor Michael Nathanson hears from his peers on what happens when your character meets their end in Playing Dead. Plus: five podcasts adapted for TV

What is it about death and podcasts? When it comes to great new listens, there seems to be a lot of dying about at the moment. From Kathy Burke’s raucous, funeral-based Where There’s a Will There’s A Wake (previewed in last week’s newsletter) to Grief, Collected – the new show from the hosts of much-lauded US pod The Mash-Up Americans – the last couple of weeks have seen pods spend a lot of time thinking about the end of life. If you’re a Stranger Things fan, though, far and away the most exciting is Playing Dead, which talks to actors whose characters have met a grisly end, including Shannon Purser, who played Nancy’s best pal in season one.
