A looming heat wave that is forecast to hit much of the Western Region next week may result in power outages, according to a heat bulletin Friday from the state’s California Independent System Operator, which monitors the power grid.

No outages are currently planned for the state, according to a statement put out by the agency. But triple-digit heat that is expected to take hold along the Southwest on Tuesday and eventually spread to California could bring some.
